How the Hilton Santa Clara turned a lobby concierge into a hospitality marketing platform.

Within its first three months, an AI concierge installed to answer guest questions became a World Cup destination, a paid corporate-event product, and a loyalty engine — converting 11.3% of selfie guests into Hilton Honors members, with guests rating the experience 4.76 out of 5.

>> The Challenge

A hotel in motion, a lobby full of questions.

When the FIFA World Cup came to the Bay Area, the Hilton Santa Clara — minutes from Levi's Stadium — became a home base for international fans, including waves of Team Paraguay supporters, on top of a property already busy with corporate travelers. Every one of them arrives with the same small questions — where to eat, how to get to the stadium, what the hotel offers — and every routine question lands on the front desk.

The timing added a harder problem: the hotel was mid-renovation. Amenities, dining options, and property details were changing week to week, which meant any guest-facing answer engine had to stay accurate while the property itself was a moving target.

And beyond service, the team wanted the lobby to become a destination during the World Cup — something guests would remember and corporate clients would pay to be part of — not just a place to check in.

>> Why Hilton Santa Clara Chose LiveX

One partner for the hardware, the AI, and the business model.

The hotel needed four things at once — and they're the same four we'd tell any property to demand.

Accuracy that keeps up with the property

Continuous knowledge updates through renovation and reopening, with repeated validation before and after launch — post-renovation checks confirmed zero outdated amenity answers.

Conversation that feels human

Roughly 2-second response time and 140+ languages, so a fan from Paraguay and a traveler from Tokyo get the same effortless walk-up experience — no menus, no queue.

A complete system, not a science project

LiveX delivers the hardware, the AI avatar, creative production, and support as one accountable vendor — with activation creative that met Hilton brand standards through every iteration.

A model that pays for itself

The same platform that serves guests doubles as sponsorable inventory for corporate events — turning the installation from a cost line into a revenue surface.

>> The Solution

First, the everyday job: a concierge that never sleeps.

LiveX deployed a Gateway running an AI concierge built specifically for the Hilton Santa Clara. Guests walk up and ask, in whatever language they speak: hotel amenities, meetings and parking, local dining, transportation, and stadium-day logistics. As renovations changed the property, the concierge's knowledge changed with it — so guests always got current answers, not last month's.

Then, the engagement job: the hotel becomes Team Paraguay's Bay Area home.

With the World Cup playing at Levi's Stadium, the hotel hosted parties for Team Paraguay fans — and the concierge transformed to match: a custom soccer-themed avatar, personalized AI selfie experiences, branded welcome and sign-off videos, and event creative throughout. Fans gathered in the lobby for the parties and left with a personalized World Cup selfie — a reason to remember the hotel, not just pass through it.

The loyalty job: a selfie that becomes a member.

Every selfie doubled as an on-ramp into Hilton Honors. QR touchpoints appeared while the selfie was generating and again on the finished experience — catching guests at the moment of delight. The result: 11.3% of participating guests converted into Hilton Honors members. The hardest part of loyalty acquisition, made repeatable.

The conversion moment: while the selfie generates, Hilton Honors content plays and a QR invites the guest to join — 11.3% did.

And the revenue job: an event client paid to be on the screen.

When a Silicon Valley technology company hosted a corporate event at the hotel, the same platform was re-skinned with the client's branding for a paid, custom AI selfie activation — no new infrastructure required. A guest-engagement device became sponsorable event inventory, and the hotel gained a new line of corporate-event revenue it can sell again and again.

>> The Outcome

Three months in: one installation, three businesses.

Ninety days after installation, what went in as a concierge was already three businesses on one device: a multilingual guest-service layer rated 4.76/5 by guests, a loyalty acquisition channel converting 11.3% of selfie guests into Hilton Honors members, and paid, sponsorable event inventory proven with a corporate-event client.

Phase 3

Hospitality Marketing Platform

Re-skinnable, sponsorable event inventory — proven with a paid corporate-event activation.

A repeatable model for every event hotel.

Nothing about this playbook is specific to one property: concierge first, seasonal activation second, sponsored inventory third. The same progression is already running at the Marriott San Jose and rolling out at the Marriott Marquis San Francisco — three properties, one playbook.
